I am an English teacher with classroom experience teaching writing to middle school level through first-year college students. As a veteran home educator, I have greatly enjoyed mentoring high school students by providing detailed evaluation and feedback on varied writing assignments.
Since I am not your student’s teacher, I will not grade their assignments, but I will offer thorough, thoughtful evaluation of the grammar, syntax, structure, flow, and development of ideas with comments, tips and encouragement they can refer to on the marked copy I will return to you. My goal is to foster the development of excellent communication skills students will carry with them into college and beyond!

Admission Essays
The potential impact of a well-written college admission essay cannot be overstated. University admissions boards view the essay as a way to get to know prospective students. It is an opportunity to showcase the abilities, experiences, activities, and interests that make each student unique. For this reason, honesty and authenticity are paramount. In addition, an admission essay frequently helps determine scholarship eligibility, and therefore may translate into funding for your student’s education. It should shine!
I understand the weight this essay carries and the expectations colleges have. I would love to work with your student to help them organize their ideas into a compelling piece of writing that clearly communicates how their strengths, passions, and goals align with the college they're seeking admission to.
